Keira's 1st Birthday

Well, Keira turned one on October 21st. We had a small family celebration for her. Mom, Dad, Jesiah, and Katherine helped her open up her presents. She received two very cute dresses from Grammy/Baba and Mimi/Poppa John, birthday wishes from great grandparents, and a busy ball popper from Jesiah and Kat. We enjoyed a light chicken dinner and then a cherry chocolate cake for dessert. It has been fun to watch Keira grown and learn throughout this past year. Thank you to everyone who remembered her birthday.

Keira Turns the big "One"

I did it! I made it through my first full year of life. Let's see and I think I've only been to Disneyland 6 times. Wow! Mom and Dad must sure love me.

Keira's 1st Birthday Cake

We enjoyed a cherry chocolate cake for Keira's 1st Birthday. Compliments for this delicious cake go to Amber Pierce. Thanks from the recipe Ambee. We love you and missed not having you and Spencer at the party.

Keira enjoys cake. Can you find Jesiah?

Keira's Flower Cake

Keira's beautiful floral cake received from Auntie Collen, Uncle Rick, Emilee and Amanda. Thanks family! I love my flowers.

Current Events

Well, it's been roughly 6 months since I last posted. We have been busy to say the least. Dave graduated from Kellogg in June, we spent 6 weeks in Utah for the summer, we then proceeded to move down to Southern, CA where we currently reside in Laguna Niguel. Jesiah has started Kindergarten, Katherine is learning how to ride a big girl bike, and Keira just turned 1 years old today! We are loving the area with the beautiful weather and so many fun things to do. Our favorite activities include Disneyland and the beach.

Posted below are some highlights from the last 6 months. I'll try and post some pictures of Keira's birthday online sometime soon.

Nicole

Halloween at Disneyland

It's Halloween time at Disneyland. The park is decked out with pumpkins, candycorn, and special features on certain rides like the Haunted Mansion. Here is Mickey (pumpkin style) at the front entry.

The Sword in the Stone

To no avail the Olson family was unable to pull the sword from the stone.

Cinderella

Katherine was most pleased that she was able to meet Cinderella. As you would expect she is very much into princesses these days. She's all about makeup, fingernail polish, and dresses. Although, not too much into doing anything with her hair. It was a dream come true to meet Cinderella.

Grizzly Park

Dad, Keira, Kat, and Jesiah meet the Brother Bears in Grizzly Park playland inside California Adventure Park

California Adventure Park

Jordan, Kat, and Dad in front of the Big "A" at California Adventure Park. It was Jordan and Dad's first time there. We had a lot of fun. Some of the favorite rides were toy story, the rollercoaster in paradise pier, Mullholland Madness, and the Tower of Terror.

Nicole and Jordan

Jordan came down for a visit before heading off for his mission. We attended the Newport Beach temple for a session. I was so glad to have a couple of days to spend with him before he heads down to Chile for 2 years.

Keira 11 months old

Here's Keira enjoying her new baby swing in our backyard that came fully equipped with a swing-set. The children love being able to go outside anytime of the day. Sure beats the cold weather in Chicago.

Getting Ready for the 1st day of school

Jesiah and Dave get ready for the 1st day of Kindergarten.

1st Day of School

Jesiah entered Kindergarten this year. Mrs. Miller is his teacher. He seems to really like her and enjoys school for the most part. We are excited to have Mrs. Miller because she was teacher of the year (last year). We are looking forward to a great year in school!

Our New Home

Jesiah and Katherine are loving their new home in Southern California.

3 Cute Kids

I just love this picture of Jesiah, Keira, and Katherine. I can't get enough of my children's big cheeks.

Graduation June 2009

Dave completed his studies at the Kellogg School of Business at NorthWestern University in Evanston, IL. We are so proud of his hard work and his desire for higher education. We had a great year living in Chicago and will miss all of our friends.

Nicole and Dave in the Jacobs Bldg. at Kellogg. Dave is sporting is fashionable cap and gown. So proud of his accomplishment from business school. He did a fantastic job balancing school with family. Hip, hip, hooray for graduation day!!
